José Estabil is a connector and technology innovator in the life sciences. His recent executive roles focus on AI-assisted precision medicine. José translated cutting edge genomics and optics into profitable molecular diagnostics (Cipherome), chip diagnostics (KLA), and semiconductor devices (IBM) that resulted in reducing the risk of leg amputations, cost-effective semiconductor manufacturing, and faster circuits, respectively. He is the co-founder and board chair of Latinos in Bio, the leading 501c(3) providing education to Latinxes in the life sciences. 

 

José is a member of STRIPE, a precision medicine community involving the FDA and US Pharmacopeia. His work in pharmacogenomics was recently recognized by the American Society for Pharmacovigilance.  He serves on the boards of Itera Health AI (private), BioMiner AI (private), and VentureWell (public). He has been a member or observer on the boards of TT Ventures (ACQ: Vertis SGR), ArcticSand (ACQ: Murata), and Brown University. José is the lead life sciences mentor for Harvard Business School’s capstone entrepreneurship courses (Field X | Field Y) and is a mentor in MIT’s Innovation Teams course, Institute of Medical Engineering and Science’s linQ program, and Deshpande Center for Technological Innovation.  He earned two degrees in Physics from Brown University and is a lifetime Trustee Emeritus. He developed cross-cultural sensibility growing up in an immigrant, Spanish-only household in Miami, FL, and from leading cross-border projects in Japan (Schlumberger), S. Korea (KLA), Portugal (MIT), and Russia (MIT).
