As Renewable Energy Structuring advisor for Atoll, Mark J. Riedy brings a wealth of experience that spans more than 30 years and touches clients throughout the world. A member of the international law firm of Mintz Levin, Mark's Corporate and Energy and Clean Technology practices team focuses on renewable and conventional energy, clean technology, communications, infrastructure, environmental, and investment fund clients.
A seasoned professional, Mark has represented domestic and international clients in negotiating and drafting project development and debt and equity financing contracts. He has counseled clients in regard to energy, environment, communications, infrastructure, manufacturing, technology, tax, corporate, international, investment fund structuring, regulatory and legal issues. He has represented clients in international disputes before U.S. and foreign agencies and courts and provided counsel about general investment into and out of the United States.
Mark's impressive track record includes handling a variety of complex and ground-breaking cases from representing a U.S. venture capital company in the first financial closing of a biodiesel project in India to representing the donors of 35 solar powered treatment units to an international health organization. His clients have included real estate firms, oil trading companies, venture capital companies, asset management companies, biomass technology companies, and private equity companies in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Central America, Europe, the Middle East, South America, South Asia and the United States.
A recognized expert in his field, Mark is the author of numerous articles in publications such as Natural Gas & Electricity Journal and a noted speaker on topics ranging from barriers to financing renewable energy to structuring international operations and deals. He is also the founder and general counsel of the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE), the largest worldwide association of renewable energy and clean tech businesses.
